What it is
A 32-page, free-to-download eBook of pesto recipes I've tested in my own kitchen. Ten variations, each with a short story about where it came from.
What's inside
- Classic Genovese
- Sicilian pesto trapanese (tomato + almond)
- Kale and almond
- Pistachio and mint
- Avocado and pumpkin seed
- Wild garlic in spring
- Sun-dried tomato with walnut
- Carrot-top (yes, really)
- Spicy arugula
- Cilantro and lime (controversial)
Each recipe is one page: a short intro, the ratios, and two suggested pairings.
The constraint
I wanted something a reader could finish in twenty minutes. No bloat, no chapters about "the history of basil." Just ten recipes, ten short stories, and a final page on technique.
How it was made
The whole thing is markdown files compiled to PDF with Pandoc. The source lives in a public repo, so corrections and forks are easy.
